Going off D33P's How-to-Win: Controls post, here's my spiel for some optimal glance configurations to consider:
Left/Right Glance:
- L/R Meta keys: using thumbs allow all 4 turn fingers to stay in business. - L/R Shift keys: big, intuitive, hard to miss buttons.
Backward Glance:
- The extra apostrophe ' key on my home row, as it can easily be nabbed via pinky without moving your other, more important fingers. - G+H or wha-dever keys reside between your 4 turn keys.
Ultra Special Cool Dude Glances:
V = left, B = back, N = right
All in on place like arrow keys, ready for thumb action! Easy to bump space, though, if that's your brake.

My pinky reaches the arrow keys while my fingers are still on ASDF and JK (briefly sacrificing the ability to triple bind right, to glance in any direction - not just on my netbook either, regular sized keyboard).
I just might try your setup though, seems easier to work with (can still triple bind).
