Hi guys.
First of all, just incase you don't know me, I will introduce myself. I am Monkey. I used to be one of the leaders of Immortal Dynasty but have now formed a new clan, with three other people from Immortal Dynasty. I and okra are the leaders and the clan's name is "sparks". The website is as follows:
www.sparksclan.proboards.com
There are currently only four people in the clan so we will are looking for at least three more people to play with us in next sunday's Ladle. The details of next Sunday's Ladle can be found at the following link:
wiki.armagetronad.org/index.php/Ladle/Challenge_Board
Note that the start time will probably be 1:45 Eastern time, unless we get a bye, in which case it will be 45 minutes later. The brackets are put up on thursday so you have until wednesday to tell us if you would like to play with us.
Toast and smurf have already told me that they want to play with us so I will add them to our team. We still could do with another couple of people really, so if you have played some fortress before then either find me in game or post here or on the Sparks forums to say that you want to play with us. I will check these forums daily from now until Ladle 86.
The first and most important way that we like to communicate is via IRC (Internet Relay Chat). For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a similar system to instant messengers. A simple way to use it is to go to this link:
www.hashpickup.net/webchat Just put in your nickname there and you can start using IRC. For those of you who are more serious about using IRC, I would recommend downloading hexchat. It is a specialist IRC program. You can download it from the following link for Windows:
hexchat.github.io/downloads.html (you have to choose between 32bit and 64bit, depending on which version of Windows you are using). For Linux and *BSD it should be in your software respitory.
We also like to communicate using mumble although it is not essential for you to play with us. mumble is similar to teamspeak. If you don't know what teamspeak is I will explain. It is a program that lets you talk to all of your teammates at the same time. It can run while you are playing any game. You will need a microphone (either builtin or part of a headset) to use it. For Windows and Mac OS X, it can be downloaded from the following link:
sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/files/Mumble/1.2.8/ (for Windows you want the .msi file and for Mac OS X you want the .dmg file). For Linux or *BSD it should be in your software repository.
Thanks for reading this rather long post!
