The Amelioration of Tron - The PlanIt is now time to enact the second stage of this project: The Plan.You guys have provided some great ideas on how to improve this game, but these ideas need to be organized for action to take place.Below is the plan that we will use in order to achieve our goal. I have separated the ideas into 2 main points of focus, which are Social Media and Helping the Noobs. I have also included a miscellaneous category, for the ideas that don't fit either category.Not every idea is going to have a noticeable impact. However, if we act on every single idea mentioned below, it is almost guaranteed that we will bring change. Now for the plan:Social Media:
- Create a Fasttrack YouTube Channel that would post videos of tutorials, fights, tips, ect.
- Get established gaming channels to do segments about tron
- Record videos of pro 1v1s and upload them
- Record tutorials of Fasttrack skills and upload them
- Make a Fasttrack Twitter that would post a variety of things such as pictures, videos, tips, and tron humor
- Spam messages about Armagetron across the Internet that include all necessary links and info
Helping the Noobs:
- Write tutorials on this site and on the Armagetron Wiki
- Actively help noobs whenever possible using a certain procedure
- Create a noob training program
- Put useful information for noobs on server messages
- Provide encouragement whenever possible
Miscellaneous:
- Learn C++ and help to develop Armagetron
- Tell your friends about tron
- Help to organize the Armagetron Forums
What I need from you:
I need you guys to tell me everything that you would be willing to do that's on this list, as well as anything else you could contribute. Make sure to be specific about what you can and cannot do, so I can assign everyone a role.
After you guys tell me what you are willing to do, I will make a specific and detailed plan of attack for each person that posts below.

I'm currently learning C++ but don't count on me becoming a pro programmer. Tis a large chance I may fq, but when it comes to spamming about armagetron on the internet? Psh, I got dat covered. I WILL ALSO ASSIST IN HELPING THE NUBS!

assiting in teaching le nublets and spamming the social media sites sound like some shit i do anyway, i am also capable of trying to get some big gamer you tube channels to put us up (i dont know any people of sorts but i know most of the big gamer channels and have a few friends wh o may be able to get it peeked at)
i am absolutly horrid at programming, i dont recommend i be on that but i am willing to dust off my old java books to relearn the basics.
(also if we could possibly get a linkable banner to the youtube channel, or the forums for social spamming that would be just peachy)

The Amelioration of Tron - The Plan - I would not be opposed to recording some videos every now and then to put on a Youtube channel. We would want to develop a couple of different categories, such as the pro 1v1s and tutorials so that we can provide an interest for people to actually watch the videos. I don't think that just doing "let's play" videos would be particularly helpful or interesting for the Armagetron players, unless those videos were from some famous Youtuber.
- I don't think advertizing in the form of Twitter or on various messageboards is really up my alley though.
Helping Noobs- To be honest I probably wouldn't spend too much time writing a tutorial on the wiki.
- Obviously I can help new players figure the game out and provide general encouragement whenever I'm in-game.
- I'm not sure exactly what to think about a training program. What would that involve, and how do you make sure newbies participate?
- If I had a server, I would provide extensive information in server messages.
Miscellaneous:- Learning C++ is one thing I am interested in at the moment, not just for Armagetron but in general. So, I would like to take part in this effort. At this point, I can do the simple stuff like if statements, for/while loops, arrays and vectors, methods, classes, etc. but I am a beginner right now.
- I can try to tell some people about tron
- I'm not very interested in organizing the Arma forums, sounds like work

I could maybe record videos and do basic mazing tutorials. I also can help people with setting binds and such in game. Also /vote ban shift esc.

Also regarding tutorials I believe durf uploaded some basic traps/plugs on his website. The quality isn't great but it may be better to post them on YouTube. Maybe have playlists for traps, front doorin, and other basic strategies. Also sorry for autocorrect. On vacation, won't be on for about 4 days. Will check this forums tho. Gl

If you guys want to help finish an old idea I had: Tron School; it's basically a website with different levels of material to read, ranging from right after installing tron for the first time (grade 1) to scripting, hosting, and possibly developing for tron.. I already have most of the structure laid out for most grades, so it's basically filling it with content. Some extra work to slap it all together so it looks nice, and it's done! That is...if someone would like to help, I'll post more info about the idea. In case anyone was wondering, the link smurf was talking about is here: durf.tk/tut/2/concepts/And about the quality...I was playing and recording at the same time on the same machine. As for this list...tbh I don't have a clue how I can contribute to that list; I'm on another page. |

I Can:
Be nice to nubs, show them that FT hospitality
Teach the nubs the moves and such
Help record any videos needed and maybe write some tutorials
Spam the youtube comment sections a lil'
Can't:
Do any programing stuff or any complicated computer stuff '_'

I can maybe help train some of the new players that want to but if you want to attract the noobs maybe have a server that is hard to miss and says for new players. I can also spam messages of armagetron on some different youtube channels but thats about it  |
