We will be creating a noob training program. Please discuss below what you would like to see in it, including how we would train the noobs and who would be in charge of what.

Well, if this training program is for a certain game mode such as Fasttrack, I may be of some assistance.
Uh Toast and I are brainstorming on how to get this program going soon...

Im expecting this to get set up tonight. Thing to include: the lesson plan for training sessions (ie a list of skills that you would teach in a certain order), how long the practice sessions would be, how many times per week, how many noobs assigned to each trainer, evaluations.

I propose that each person choose 2 noobs, people that show in interest in learning and who won't just rq from tron.
Each individual person picks who they want to train and begin to ask them what days/ times they are available or however you want to arrange practice times with them. There won't be a uniform training times per week or anything because the trainers/ trainees have different schedules and such, just try and get in as much practice as possible.
There should also not be a set order of skills to teach because each person learns differently and at different paces. However the skills to focus on should be teaching them different patterns for traps, how to camp, how to escape basically, and when and when not to front door/backdoor.
When teaching you should prob go in the 1v1 server so other players don't get in the way. Show them some traps and moves and how to do stuff when they are in spectator mode and then once they think they understand, ask them to try. Also try giving them loose traps to practice front dooring and practice boxing them and practice them boxing you.
The trainer should not just teach the trainee how they play, the trainer should teach them all different ways and strategies and see which one the trainee is good at and what they prefer.
For evaluations d33p explained that noobs might find it encouraging for the pr0s to tell them how they are doing and show them the growth that they've done over time. Trainers can give a weekly evaluation or so tepends on how often you practice with them), on it you can say what they've learn such as new traps or any notable progression. Also sometime during the practice go try hard nab on them in 1v1 and record the score and see how they do over time. I believe it will be best to just say (type) it to them every week or so depending on how often you practice with them.
PS I have chosen to train Blade so far '_'

Hmm.. I like the procedure but I don't think there should be a limit on nubz that you can have under your wing. If the trainer thinks he can handle it then why not. Also we could start teaching nubs at that one 1v1 server, or we could get some sort of server dedicated to training nubs in fasttrack. Then again, in order for us to get a server just for training we would first have to show that we are dedicated to our cause. As of now we can start our program off by recruiting nubs and making a schedule for these practices.

Consider that this could be a paid service too. When I originally suggested something like this, it was for a paid service to raise money towards the cost of a VPS.
While I understand that the game is free and that most of the players don't have money anyway, it still costs a lot of your time to dedicate to a noob that might end up quitting tron before you do.
How many people here figured out how to play FT and HR on their own? A teacher isn't a necessity, but it can make things better. So perhaps we should consider something like $1 a lesson / $10 per gametype? (with a guarantee that they will go from nub to pro in ___ months)
Anyway...it's a thought. Hopefully one that could make tron more worthwhile for everybody.

If you make it paid, I guarantee that nobody will join. BTW I learnt ft and hr on my own.

I recently created my account on the forums and never really looked through the posts since i thought it might not be worth my time but apparently i was wrong..... I've been playing tron for a month now and haven't been seeing the progress i wanted so i kinda want a trainer to help me get to a good level for the next fork. (Since i got pwnt in the 3rd one) I don't mind what trainer i get, i just want a trainer that can work with with a..... really bad player and make them better at least in some way. If you haven't set up the program then nvm, but I might pay for it..... small chance tho.
