We will be creating a Youtube channel for Fasttrack. I will create the channel, and then give you guys the username and password for it so you can upload your own videos to it. Please discuss below what you want to see, including what kinds of videos we should post and what the title and description for videos would be.

Titles should be more broad such as just "TRON." People are unlikely to google armagetron advanced. Be more encompassing with the titles.

Also maybe have a separate playlist for PRO 1v1s and strategies.

Ya'know smurf you could just edit your post with the ideas you forgot to put in, instead of creating posts starting with 'also' >.>. You could put the tags for the video as smurf said, related to tron and other general things that are loosely related with the game. Of course we also want to put up strategies, tournaments, and 1v1s. But also put in some general Fasttrack gameplay just to show how it is in regular Fasttrack.

As for the videos to post onto this Youtube channel, we may want to consider including not just Fasttrack, but other Armagetron game modes as well. In any case, here are a few ideas: - One obvious thing would be a set of tutorial videos on how to set up your Armagetron controls, common console commands, and general gameplay tips for different gamemodes. These videos should probably dovetail into Armagetron Wiki or forums tutorials, and depending on how far we can get with developing Armagetron further, perhaps some specific aspects of the game might change slightly from its current state. This type of video probably would not get much attention from outside of Armagetron, so it might be a good idea to save this for later. Another part of it is letting people know that it is there. I guess this is where helpful /help server messages comes in.
- We will want to develop a series of videos so that people can reliably expect a new video to be uploaded on a regular basis. So while it would be good to record the Fork every 2-4 months, I wouldn't really anticipate this to develop a fan-base of viewers (and with Armagetron in its current state, there probably won't be many viewers at all starting off... however, that doesn't mean that this could not be worthwhile). We need some kind of weekly content to cultivate an audience. This step requires cooperation by the Fasttrack community in order to actually generate the content, in the form of competitions, 1v1s, etc. One thought is a weekly "event" on a 1v1 server to have the winner of the previous round continue on to the next round, and other player gets rotated among the rest of the players. Another thing would be if we could get Major League Fasttrack started up.
For the titles/descriptions of the videos, here is the basic structure that I have been following so far, as an example from my Tron Tears video:
Title* Armagetron Advanced - Tron Tears
*Since it's obviously going to be an Armagetron Advanced related channel, the first part may be omitted. However, in the case of a tournament like the Fork, its name should be put in place of that. Here's another video title.
Fork 2 - Final Four - iAura vs Rookie
Description Here you can see a basic tagline/overview of the video for the first line, then a more detailed description followed by links, and finally credits given to other sources. By the way, here's the link to the video: Well, that's all I have for now. Our main focus right now should be on creating an organized series of videos that we can use to generate interest from both inside and outside of Armagetron, by showing off Fasttrack. That means we need to decide on some kind of community event to take place on a regular basis, so if you have any other thoughts on what to do for that, post that below. We can also work on the tutorial videos once the Wiki/Forum tutorials are planned out.

That's actually a good video, well put together. One bad thing about the video example is...it's nothing. Someone completely new to tron would wonder why that's even a thing. Or just wonder what's going on.
The amount of sparks shown has significance to a tronner, but not to someone that doesn't know what sparks are. From an outside perspective, it seems like some glitch video of a game, and the most noticable thing is the particle engine.
That being said, I think the video is decent, but the choice of content could have been better for a generalized youtube video of armagetron.
IMO, showing some normal game type might be nice (normal tefault settings, maybe with high rubber, nothing special). That will appeal to noobs; it will show them a game type that they are able to play right after installation.
Still a good video though. I liked the music. I also liked the part when you said, "... helpful /help server messages ..." ... lol.

Necromelioration Today I searched around to find a replacement for the disgrace that is EzVid... I found Fraps again and decided to test its performance. It actually has very nice quality and doesn't cause performance issues too much at all--I can play Armagetron at a decent 60 FPS while recording, and 60 FPS is also the maximum frame rate of the recordings. One thing I did notice was that when the file size reaches about 3.5 GB (which might be like 5 or 6 minutes for the AVI file type), it will actually split your recording into multiple videos. I haven't done extensive testing, but when I tried to recombine those with Windows Movie Maker, there didn't seem to be any missing footage. I uploaded a video showing what a recording with Fraps might look like: All of this to say, I would recommend Fraps for recording Arma videos (if you can get your hands on a registered license, that is).
